I could spend the rest of the summer using this space to quote random passages from BOB DYLAN's NOBEL lecture, which in occasionally rhyming, enthusiastically detailed language ties THE ODYSSEY, MOBY-DICK and ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT to a long thread of 20th century AMERICAN music, including his own, not because of what any of it means, but because of how it sounds and how it feels and what it says about the human experience and what it doesn't say about the greatest mysteries, and it's either one of the best dissertations on popular music and literature anyone has written, or the only review of TRIPLICATE you need to read, or the cagiest recap yet of THE LEFTOVERS, which ended Sunday night as strangely and perfectly and musically on-point as any TV series ever has, and which kinda sorta shined a light on its own big questions while letting the mystery be...
