Imagine you own a deli, and every time you make a BLT you have to make separate, tiny payments to the distributor that sold you the tomato, the farmer who grew it, and the trucking company that delivered it. Not to mention the people behind the bacon and the lettuce. The digital music economy isn't quite that. But it isn't quite NOT that either.
