Most of the strategic issues at REDEF have been related to continuous doing. Head down. Working crazy hours just to produce the day. No time to take a breath. No time to see the future. No time to dream. And by definition that keeps you in place. Long hours used to be a badge of honor. Working smart is the way to go. All those extra hours, at least for me, didn't deliver any big ideas. They just exhausted me and contributed to near burn-out. My best moments are on walks. Or just sitting outside day dreaming. Having a vision and not knowing how to get there is a 40-something's version of the terrible twos... Can a digital media non-commerce consumer product be successful without a significant social component? The biggest products often have some sort of personal expression and publishing. Where are the other neighbors? The block association? Why does a man have to stand alone? He answered me. I love Twitter. So does this mean a dystopian NEIGHBORS 3 with a JASON BLUM-like narrative?... Is there any TV personality that suffers more from world events than ANTHONY BOURDAIN? PARTS UNKNOWN is routinely interrupted or skipped due to CNN breaking news. And often that coverage is a live loop with absolutely no substantial information, exhaustive repetition, and irresponsible pundit speculation. This week the TRINIDAD episode. I was raised by a GRENADIAN and they had lots to say about the "Trinnies", so I was super excited to watch. The rerun isn't on until Friday.
