QUOTABLES!
quote of the day
If you live long enough, you'll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you'll be a better person. It's how you handle adversity, not how it affects you. The main thing is never quit, never quit, never quit.

More great "pass the time" goodies roll in from friends. TED SARANDOS of NETFLIX sent NARCOS. I'm going to binge today. Haven't been this excited for a show in while... And if you own HARRY & DAVID stock, my surgery triggered a buying frenzy... Ironic that I had bypass surgery and my chest doesn't really hurt. Tight, uncomfortable but it's my back that's killing me. I got a zero gravity chair that I can work from. Recommend it with all the options. Oh, and biblical night sweats. The kind where you feel someone dumped a bucket of water on you. Sleep has been tough, maybe 3 hours a day. All par for the course and should subside within a month. Able to walk about a half a mile a day. I miss stretching the most. Hopefully, by end of next week... My friend KAYRN has been sending me hysterical updates from her first cruise which sounds pretty gross. Like characters from WALL-E and an orgy of alcohol and food where people knock you aside at the buffet line like it's a sale at FILENE'S BASEMENT... GRATITUDE OF THE DAY: About 4 years ago, I got an email from JEFFREY KATZENBERG with some good advice for REDEF. He's been a close friend since. We talk less about biz these days and more about life. He was one of the first people I called after I was diagnosed and in his "all hands on deck" way he jumped into gear (with the help of his wife MARILYN, the real boss) and helped me find doctors. But most of all, they kept me occupied. A lunch, a convo. Visited me in recovery and one night when I couldn't sleep came late night and just told me fun stories. The doctors would come in each morning and the last thing they said was "Please make sure MARILYN knows we spoke, she called me 5 times already." They are my friends, they looked after me and I love them... I've been using WITHINGS Blood Pressure Monitor and APPLE HEALTH to track my progress. The sharing data functions on both either suck or I don't know how to use it. I've written this before but I find it obnoxious that APPLE doesn't count walking as a default exercise. You have to manually set it each time to track your movement. I just had heart surgery, I'm not JESSE OWENS. If Americans walked more in general we'd be a healthier country. So encourage it. Update it. Otherwise, I enjoy both products and it's the beginning of my quantified self health push.
