Diminishing returns from PUBLIC SCHOOL as they make the switch to a new show format -- they're now staging just two shows per year, combining menswear and womenswear. For Spring 2017: reheated streetwear tropes, sloppily styled. Haven't seen anything I've liked from CHOW and OSBORNE since Pre-Fall 2016... Don't much care for videos of dudes showing off their sneaker collections -- like business card scene from AMERICAN PSYCHO but somehow even lamer -- but I do love to procrastinate, so I found myself watching JEFF STAPLE discuss his summer sneaker rotation with HIGH SNOBIETY. He mentions an NYC label called WORLD OF NICHÉ with a novel and, um, rigid retail concept. If you want to shop at WORLD OF NICHÉ, it's by appointment only, only one customer is allowed in the shop at a time, and no outdoor shoes are allowed in the store. GQ's JAKE WOOLF wrote about the very serious shopping experience at WON back in FEBRUARY. I continue to believe that any money you might devote to fancy sneakers is better spent on slip-on VANS and really good meal... At FASHIONISTA, MARIA BOBILA asks a numerologist to explain why so many Creative Directors -- nine since last OCTOBER! -- are leaving brands after three years of service.
