QUOTABLES!
quote of the day
Everyone is paying attention to the wrong thing in my opinion. There's this huge debate about 'Oh my God, should we sell the garments the day after the show or three days after the show or should we tweet it in this way or Instagram it in that way?'... You know, all that kind of bullshit. Will all that stuff still be relevant 30 years from now? I don't think so. What we should ask is will we have enough creative people who are strong enough and willing to do what is necessary right now to follow that madhouse.

According to THE INTERCEPT, the CIA's venture capital arm (??!) has invested in a beauty company with a product that can collect biomarkers. "The CIA fund has described human skin as a 'unique, underutilized source for sample collection.'" According to some beauty bloggers, the product, CLEARISTA, works like a charm. Worth it?... RAF SIMONS doesn't seem to've had any trouble adjusting to the slower pace of post-DIOR life. He extolls the virtues of working slowly and simply in a candid chat with THE TELGRAPH... Anyone surprised to learn that cellulite was only framed as a problem once we figured out you could sell products purporting to solve it?... Lots of interesting points in BUSINESS OF FASHION's piece on fashion and AI -- would be interested in seeing supporting evidence for analyst MICHELE GOERTZ's claim that the next generation of consumers "don’t have the patience for a one-on-one relationship"... I spent the weekend decorating a new apartment and was feeling really good about it until I saw these photos of architect TANDAO ANDO's live/work studio in OSAKA. Also, I'm pretty sure that portrait of ANDO captures the best anyone's ever looked in green corduroy.
