Maggie Lindemann joins Kyle Meredith to talk about her new EP, HEADSPLIT. Listen to the new episode above, or wherever you get your podcasts.

The alt-metal singer-songwriter chats about paring down the scale of HEADSPLIT in order to build up to her next big project. Doing so, however, had a sort of freeing effect, allowing her to experiment with both her sound and lyrics.

As part of the new process, Lindemann looked to artists both established and up-and-coming. She mentions working with Siiickbrain, reckoning with the new generation coming up behind her, and looking towards Gwen Stefani and Evanescence’s Amy Lee for career guidance. “[Setfani] was at her prime in her late 20s/early 30s when she started popping off with No Doubt, so I think that’s really inspiring to see,” Lindemann stated. “I like to look at people’s careers and see that they’re still doing really well when they’re older.”

Listen to Maggie Lindemann talk about HEADSPLIT and more above, or watch the interview below. You can also check out the artist discuss her album SUCKERPUNCH and her personal experiences in the music industry on another Consequence podcast, Beyond the Boys Club.
