Welcome to Episode 115 of TV’s Top 5, The Hollywood Reporter‘s TV podcast.
Every week, hosts Lesley Goldberg (West Coast TV editor) and Daniel Fienberg (chief TV critic) break down the latest TV news with context from the business and critical sides, welcome showrunners, executive and other guests, and provide a critical guide of what to watch (or skip, as the case may be).
This week’s five topics are:
1. Game of Thrones at 10.
HBO is celebrating the 10th anniversary — yes, really — of its signature hit Game of Thrones. Joining us this week is THR writer-at-large James Hibberd to break down HBO’s “Iron Anniversary” strategy and the latest on the franchise. The segment also takes a deep dive into if the eighth and final season will ever be remade.

2. Bridgerton bombshell.
Breakout star Regé-Jean Page departed the Netflix hit after one season but had the opportunity to return in a reduced role for season two. This segment explores the multiple reasons why the actor said no to returning after his one-season deal ended.
3. Mailbag.
This recurring segment features Dan and I responding to listener questions. In this edition, we look at the race for Emmy best comedy series, actors-turned-producers and why Hollywood seems to have forgiven Mike Tyson. If you have a topic you’d like to hear Dan and I discuss, email us at TVsTop5@THR.com.
4. Showrunner Spotlight.
This week, Christina Lee joins the show to discuss HBO Max’s dark comedy Made for Love. The comedy starring Cristin Milioti puts its lens on the dangers of technology as a Google-like mastermind invents a chip for couples. Lee also opens up about exploring themes of loneliness, the dangers of technology and toxic relationships at the center of the series and previews what to expect from the final two episodes of the season — and the show’s future beyond that.
5. Critic’s Corner.
As usual, every episode ends with Dan’s guide to what to watch (or skip) in the week ahead. This week, he offers reviews of Freeform’s Everything’s Gonna Be Okay, HBO’s The Nevers and Amazon’s Them.
Hear it all now on TV’s Top 5. Be sure to subscribe to the podcast to never miss an episode. (Reviews welcome!) You can also email us with any topics or Mailbag questions you’d like to be addressed in future episodes at TVsTop5@THR.com.
Coming next week: We are joined by Sierra Teller Ornelas for a Showrunner Spotlight interview about Peacock’s Rutherford Falls.
