Phoebe Bridgers’ Smashed ‘SNL’ Guitar Is up For Auction

Trending on Billboard

You can own the electric guitar Phoebe Bridgers wrecked during her debut performance on Saturday Night Live. But it’ll cost you.

When the indie singer and songwriter was the musical guest on the Feb. 6 episode of SNL, she made quite the exit.

Matters took a left turn during her set-ending performance of “I Know the End,” when she repeatedly smashed her axe against the amp. Bridgers won, it was no contest.

Now, you can have a piece of that six-string-smashing history.

Glaad Inc is organizing an auction of the guitar, to coincide with Thursday night’s (April 8) 32nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards.

Described as “the ultimate concert keepsake” and a means to “turn your home into a personal Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,” Bridgers’ smashed guitar has attracted a bid of $5,500. Bids can be made in $500 increments ahead of the auction’s close on April 11.

The moment when Bridgers busted her instrument was gratifying for some, infuriating for others. Veteran rocker and noted guitar-lover David Crosby weighed in to share his displeasure. Bridgers brushed off the criticism, tagging Crosby on social media and writing simply, “little b–ch.”
