Following 6ix9ine striking a plea deal with the U.S. government in his racketeering case last month (Jan. 23), the imprisoned rapper’s entire guilty plea has been made public in recent days. Billboard has obtained the court documents in full, which go into further detail about exactly what Tekashi is admitting to and the role he played in several violent incidents.
The 22-year-old says he got involved with the Nine Trey Bloods around the fall of 2017, which aligns with the time his rapping career began to bubble up behind his breakout hit “Gummo.” As part of the guilty plea on thee firearms offenses 6ix9ine plead guilty to his involvement with using a weapon in the attempted murder of an individual on March 20, 2018, according to the documents.
Just a couple weeks later, Tekashi (born Daniel Hernandez) and other members of the Nine Trey allegedly participated in a robbery of rival gang members at gun point. The highlighted incident, which allegedly took place on April 3, 2018, transpired in the vicinity of Manhattan’s West Side.

Another incident laid out in the court documents finds Tekashi pleading guilty to a June 2 shooting, where he allegedly paid a fellow gang member to shoot at a rival near NYC’s Times Square. Though it’s not explicitly stated in the documents, this would line up with the Chief Keef shooting, which also took place on June 2 by the W Hotel in Times Square.
Complex previously reported that 6ix9ine identified his associate Kintea “Kooda” McKenzie as the paid gunman, who accepted $10,000 of the $20,000 offer from the rapper. McKenzie was arrested on Feb. 8 and faces a minimum of 10 years, with a possible life sentence on the line.
The controlled substance Tekashi is pleading guilty to have “possessed with intention to distribute” is one kilogram of drugs “with a detectable amount of heroin.” The “Mama” rapper will remain behind bars until his sentencing on Jan 23, 2020. He’s been locked up since his original arrest by ATF agents on Nov. 18.
Even though he faced a minimum of 47 years based on his guilty plea — Tekashi originally plead not guilty to all counts — he may face a much lighter sentence if he continues to cooperate with authorities.
